Ailsa Quinlan

Ailsa arrived late to the art scene after having a very structured and uncreative career in public service. After enduring a challenging period, she was encouraged to express her creativity through art and never looked back. She experimented with various mediums, from watercolour to pen and ink, and attended formal drawing classes before discovering oil paint. She became enamoured with the richness of colour, the various mediums and surfaces, and the flexibility of mark-making. Ailsa has always been passionate about science fiction and fantasy, and now as a science fiction author, she can translate the fantastical worlds and images from her imagination onto canvas.
